The Journals Division at Human Kinetics limits the number of authors for each published manuscript to six. Only individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the manuscript, as described below, should be credited as co-authors, and the inclusion of additional authors will be considered only if all meet the requirements outlined below. The Journals Division at Human Kinetics adheres to the criteria for authorship as outlined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals. New England Journal of Medicine, 1991, 324, 424–428). Each author should have participated sufficiently in the work to take public responsibility for the content. Authorship credit should be based only on substantial contributions to (1) conception and design, or collection, analysis and interpretation of data; (2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and (3) final approval of the version to be published. Individuals who do not meet the above criteria may be listed in the acknowledgments section of the manuscript.
