穴义

太，形容词，高、大、极、最；阳，阴阳之阳。
头颞部之微凹陷处，俗称太阳穴，穴在其上，故取名。

Meaning

Tai, is an adjective, such as high, big, extremely; yang, Yang of Yin-Yang.
The light depression of temple on head was called Taiyang(Temple), this point is right on it, so called it as Taiyang.

在颞部，当眉梢与目外眦之间，向后约一横指的凹陷处。

Location

In the region of the temples, in the depression about one finger-breadth posterior to the midpoint between the lateral end of the eyebrow and the outer canthus.

1. 头痛，目赤肿痛。
2．牙痛，面痛。

直刺或斜刺0.5-0.8寸，或点刺出血。
